In the bachelor course “Food Science and Biotechnology” (BSc) and in the consecutive master course “Food Microbiology and Biotechnology” (MSc), you learn about:

  • Enzyme catalysis, kinetics and analytics
  • Biochemical production of microbial metabolism products
  • Qualitative and quantitative (bio-)chemical analytics
  • Protein and enzyme engineering
  • Bioreactor technology and media usage
  • Product processing, purification and concentration
  • Biotechnological procedures in the areas of food, cosmetics and pharmaceutical substances (“white biotechnology”)
  • Screening and production of industrial-relevant enzymes and microorganisms
